Ilechukwu: MFM Will Shock Lobi In Makurdi Even Without Odey

Published on: 07 June 2017

Mountain of Fire and Miracles FC coach Fidelis Ilechukwu is optimistic that his team will continue to produce good results as they hope to consolidate their position in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

MFM FC face Lobi Stars in Makurdi in a matchday 23 NPFL clash at the Aper Aku Stadium on Wednesday and are keen to maintain their place in the table.

> MFM are second in the NPFL table with 37 points behind Plateau United who have 39 points after 22 matches while Lobi are seventh with 33 points.

"We want to keep going higher. We're second in the table and are not ready to falter," Ilechukwu told Completesportsnigeria.com from Makurdi.

"This away match against Lobi Stars will not be an easy one but we are capable of shocking them in front of their fans.

"We're not with with our top scorer Stephen Odey who had a little knock. We waited for the doctor's report but he has been given permission not to come with us. However his attacking partner Sikiru Olatunbosun is with us and is 100% ready for the game tomorrow."

MFM won their last game in the NPFL, a 1-0 win against FC IfeanyiUbah at their Agege stadium home ground which ended an eight-game winning streak of the Nnewi side.
