Gunners Legend Ian Wright Claims Pochettino Should Hold Harry Kane Back for North London Derby

"?Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino should rest striker Harry Kane to ensure he's fit for the north London derby on Sunday.

Kane has been out of action since Spurs' 1-0 win over Sunderland in September, during which he scored the winner, and the club have struggled for goals ever since. They have a vital Champions League game in midweek against Bayer Leverkusen, which Kane could reportedly be fit for.

However, Wright believes Spurs need to rest the 23-year-old for the derby on Sunday.

"I'd rest him because when you look at Spurs, and the way they've struggled in the last few weeks in respect of scoring goals, not winning games,"? he told BT Sport.

"I think they should have won [against Leicester] especially that they are trying to make sure that they are up there competing, but you feel if they had that goalscorer someone like Harry Kane to take some of those chances when the games are close."?

Spurs slipped up against Leicester after a wayward Victor Wanyama header allowed Jamie Vardy to cross for Ahmed Musa, who tapped in at the back post.

Wright went on to say Spurs would have been confident of winning the game if Kane was playing, and the England striker's absence is costing the side points.

"It was a mistake today, you have to say, from [Victor] Wanyama. You have to say that if Harry Kane was there you would have felt that they probably would have won a couple of those games with the confidence would have been a lot higher in the team at the moment," Wright continued.

"He [Pochettino] seemed a bit despondent. I don't think you need to be despondent because Spurs are not losing the games. I think that once Harry Kane does come back and I do believe that when you look at the rest of their team it does simply come down to someone coming in like Harry Kane coming back and scoring."?
