"?Gini Wijnaldum has revealed to the "?Chronicle that he cannot discuss his future at Newcastle United until the pain of their Premier League relegation has subsided.
The Dutch international was the Magpies most expensive signing last summer at £14.5m and turned down Champions League football with PSV Eindhoven to join the club.
Wijnaldum has been linked with a move away from St. James' Park, with reported interest from AS Roma, but Toon boss Rafa Benitez admitted that he has the power to keep the play-maker at the club to get on with life in the Championship.
Wijnaldum said: "It's something I can't think about. All I can say is I'm devastated that we are out of the Premier League. It's hurt me a lot. First that feeling must go away and then I will see how I feel. It was devastating.
"Unfortunately my 11 goals did not help the club stay in the Premier League so I am upset about it. I don't know how long it will take to get over. I will take my time to get over it. Time will tell."?
Wijnaldum finished the season as Newcastle's top scorer with 11 goals and has admitted that the Geordie fans had made him feel welcome in his first season at the club.
"The fans gave me a good feeling by supporting us. Especially in the Tottenham game when the club had been relegated and the stadium was still full.
"They were still singing for us and that gives us a good feeling."?
While the Dutchman's future is still unclear, he believes that this experience will make him come back stronger than before.
"That's what you have to do in football, you can do nothing else.
"If something happens you have to stay calm and have confidence in yourself and as a team. You have to keep fighting."?
