Gianluigi Buffon Decides to Show Off His Underwear After Italy's Win Over Macedonia

Published on: 10 October 2016

"?There are many ways to celebrate a victory in football; some players like to join their fans, whilst others choose to swap shirts with opposition players.

Italy's Gianluigi Buffon has found another way to mark victory, namely roaming the field in his pants following Italy's last gasp win away to Macedonia in a World Cup qualifier.

The legendary goalkeeper was under the spotlight following a comical error in Italy's 1-1 draw with Spain last week.

With a shock defeat on the cards in Skopje last weekend, Ciro Immobile grabbed two late goals to turn the game on its head and save the Azzurri from an embarrassing result against an unfancied Macedonia team.

"?"?After the narrow victory, many Italian players, including Buffon, headed over to the travelling away fans to applaud them for their support. The Juventus goalkeeper stood out amongst the crowd however after he was seen wandering around the pitch without his shorts.

It's not yet known why or where Buffon's shorts had ended up, but he seemed to care little as he thanked the Italian fans before heading off down the tunnel with one of the team's coaches.

Sadly none of his teammates joined him in the 'no shorts' approach but you can hardly blame them on what was a chilly night in the Macedonian capital.

With Turin based closed to the Alps, it'll be interesting to see if Buffon will be prepared to repeat this trick this winter with his club side Juventus.

Only then will we know how mad the Italian goalkeeper really is.
