Low is set to shake off criticism in the wake of his side's failure to win Euro 2016 and manage them for the next two major tournaments - the 2018 World Cup in Russia, as well as Euro 2020 - after the DFB confirmed the extension following early reports on Monday morning over the new deal.

With expectations at a level England can only dream of, there were calls for Low to step aside, but he has ridden out the criticism, and guided Germany to three wins from their three World Cup 2018 qualifiers thus far, in which they have scored eight goals without reply.
