Frank Lampard Reveals Why Sergio Aguero Would Always Get Fined by Man City & Not Care

Published on: 24 December 2016

"?Former Manchester City midfielder Frank Lampard has revealed that Citizen star Sergio Aguero was so relaxed in training that he used to constantly turn up late and not even care about paying the fine.

The ex-England international and Chelsea legend joined City on loan in 2014 after ending his 13-year-stint with the Blues and joining MLS side New York City, making 32 appearances and scoring six goals.

And speaking on Sky Sports show Soccer AM, via the "?Daily Mail, Lampard was asked who used to pick up the most fines during his time in football, and the 38-year-old insisted that Aguero was the worst culprit, especially for his laziness in attending training.

"At Chelsea I can't remember but I will jump to Manchester City," said Lampard.

"Aguero picked up a fair few. He just didn't care. He was so laid back and would just stroll out to the training pitch like five minutes late.

'"[The coaches would say] right you're fined" and he would say "OK, no problem. Wait until the weekend and I'll score a hat-trick and everyone will be happy."

Lampard was also asked who his favourite coach was during his career, but couldn't decide between Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti, both former Chelsea managers, stating that they had different skills that were equally as important.

"Jose's sessions when he first came to Chelsea were such an eye opener for all of us because he was so forward thinking and it was all the ball but before that it was about running," continued Lampard.

"With Jose it was ball work from the start of the season. I used to love training under Ancelotti as he was such a good people person. He made you feel good every day. They were the two standout managers on that front."
