He was also welcomed on Twitter by existing United prodigy Angel Gomes.

Chong will take inspiration from the rise of fellow countryman Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who also made the switch from Dutch football to the United academy at the age of 16 after leaving Ajax.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have all been credited with interest in Chong, who originally hails from the Dutch Caribbean colony of Curacao. It was only in 2010 that he actually arrived in the Netherlands and was drafted into the youth setup at Feyenoord.
Speaking to a Dutch publication in April, Chong had said that he has a "better feeling" about United than Feyenoord. He also complained that the Eredivisie side had never put together a development plan for him until after he had made clear his desire to leave.
In March, the Manchester Evening News noted the following about the youngster:
"A scorer of great goals from outside of the box and described as being as fast as a bullet and explosive. A left footed very skillful player. He is essentially a striker but also plays on the wing and can play in midfield."
