"?Former Everton manager Roberto Martinez could be in line with a rapid return to football management after meeting with Belgian club Anderlecht, according to a report in the "?"?Mirror.
Martinez, 42, was sacked as the Toffees manager last month after guiding the club to a disappointing 11th place finish in the Premier League.
The report states that the Spaniard was spotted in a Brussels hotel meeting with Anderlecht representatives who are currently without a manager having sacked coach Besnik Hasi at the end of May following a poor season that saw them finish 3rd in the Belgian Pro League.
Meanwhile, Everton have rebuilt quickly following Martinez' sacking, recently appointing Dutchman "?Ronald Koeman as the new man in charge at Goodison Park.
If Martinez does complete a move to Belgian football, it's expected that he would have to take a hefty wage reduction, down from the £3 million-a-year he was earning at Everton.
However, Martinez may be excited by Anderlecht's rich history of developing some of Europe's top players including Man City's Vincent Kompany, West Ham's Cheikhou Kouyate and Everton's Romelu Lukaku among many others.
Anderlecht are the most successful Belgian club of all time having won 33 league titles in their history. However, after winning it just once in the past seven years, they are on the hunt for a manager with astute tactical ability, and Martinez could well be that man.
