Everton Manager Ronald Koeman Risks Southampton Fan Fury by Going After Former Keeper Fraser Forster

New Everton boss Ronald Koeman could anger Southampton fans even further with the 53-year-old reportedly interested in signing goalkeeper Fraser Forster from his former club, according to "?Southern Daily Echo.

Koeman was officially unveiled this week by Everton and has since refused to rule out the possibility of raiding his old club.

After Tim Howard's departure to Colorado Rapids after 13 years in England, Everton now only have one senior goalkeeper. But Southampton will turn down any approach for Forster, according to Liverpool Echo.

When speaking on the club's current goalkeeper situation, Koeman said: "If you look at the squad you see one goalkeeper.

"You can't start a season with one goalkeeper. But it is not about "?we need a number two, we need a number three or we need a number one."

Forster is not the only Saints player that Koeman seems to be interested in. When asked about linking up with his former players from Southampton at Everton, the Dutch manager replied: "I don't know. It's difficult. I like most of their players of course but we will see what happens and maybe it's better I don't make more fights with them."
