"?Everton manager Ronald Koeman has left fans feeling shocked and angry after his latest comments on the club's forward Romelu Lukaku.
The Dutchman, who took over from where Roberto Martinez left off at the end of last season, seemed to imply that the striker was to good to be at Everton, but the club's part-owner Farhad Moshiri told "?Talksport that the comments were taken out of context and that Koeman was simply saying that Lukaku is good enough to play for Europe's giant clubs.
"His potential is greater and higher than Everton as a final destination," Koeman said to Belgian news source HLN.be (H/T the "?Independent).
"If Romelu was to play at Everton until the end of his career I know he has left something behind.
"I gave him confidence and he has himself recognised that it was good for his development to play another year at Everton. What after this season comes, no-one knows."?
Given the managers stance regarding Lukaku during summer, fans are quite surprised. Koeman refused to let Chelsea have the striker and convinced him to stay put, so saying this now has left a lot of people asking questions.
But Moshiri insists that it was all taken out of context, implying that it was just 'locker-room talk'.
"It has been taken out of context," he said. "Ronald Koeman said he believes Romelu will develop into one of the best strikers in the world in the next two to three years and wouldn't be out of place at his old club, Barcelona. It is just player-coach talk."?
