Edin Dzeko's celebrations were cut short last week after finding out his house had been burgled whilst his wife and children were inside.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bosnian scored a brace in Roma's 3-1 win over Sassuolo but he was quickly brought down to earth when he realised intruders had been in his home.
The 30-year-old's wife, Amra Silajdzic, woke when she heard noise in the house and immediately called the police. Fortunately, neither she or the children were hurt. The thieves left with £450 and a collection of designer bags.
This is the latest incident which has seen several of Roma's players on the receiving end of theft. Midfielder Radja Nainggolan was robbed of £24,200 and 15 watches that totalled £180,000.
Former Arsenal and Lille forward Gervinho has also been stolen from when he tweeted about the incident back in Christmas 2014 whilst he was back in his native Ivory Coast.
Jeremy Menez, Seydou Doumbia, Juan and Philippe Mexes have also been the victims of theft.
On a personal note, Dzeko has been in sensational form this term. He netted ten goals in the whole of last season but has already matched that amount by late October.
Roma last won the Serie A title in 2001 under Fabio Capello but sit just two points behind Juventus this season and are harbouring hopes of ending their 16 year wait for a league title.
Title success would mean Dzeko earning a league medal in a third different country after victories with Manchester City and Wolfsburg.
