Eddie Howe: We Want to Improve Our Squad Ahead of Next Season

Published on: 03 June 2016

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe "?is aiming for even more improvement from his side following a successful first season in the top flight.

Despite everyone backing them as certainties for relegation, Howe managed to steer Bournemouth to a comfortable 16th to secure the target of survival that they set out at the start of the season.

The 38-year-old manager first took charge of the club back in January 2009 and The Cherries have steadily progressed every year since then, eventually leading to their promotion to the Premier League in May 2015.

However when Howe first took the reigns that achievement seemed a million miles away, as he was instead focusing on keeping his team in the Football League towards the end of the 2008-09 season. When that goal was accomplished he guided Bournemouth to League One and after a short stint with Burnley he returned to Dean Court and gained a further two promotions.

Speaking with "?Daily Echo, Howe spoke of his future aspirations in the job. "I don't know the answer to that. I don't know what the future holds, nobody does.

"All I will say is that everybody on the coaching staff will go away in the summer and try to come back better.

"I hope the players will come back better as well and we can look to improve next season.

"That has always been my way of working. When we finished 10th in the Championship, I wanted to improve on that and we ended up winning the league the following season. We would like to improve next season."?
