Eddie Howe Hails Jack Wilshere's Transformative Effect on Bournemouth

Published on: 16 November 2016

"?Jack Wilshere has started his loan move well at Bournemouth.

His good performances have not only earned him a recall to the England squad, after missing out under Sam Allardyce's brief tenure, but have also earned him effusive praise from his manager Eddie Howe.

Speaking to "?Sky Sports, Howe highlighted just how impressed he is at the work ethic of Wilshere and spoke fondly of his technical qualities.

"His quality on the ball, his technical ability, is second to none and I think he is so comfortable he's made us a totally different team with the ball." The young manager said.

The Bournemouth boss then went on compliment the midfielder's character, speaking about his mentality, attitude to training and his ability to adapt to the team's ethic.

"What's pleasantly surprised me has been his mentality, his attitude to training, his ability to mould himself to the team, to fit into that team ethic that we have.

"His defensive performances have been of the highest class, so I've been really, really pleased with him and it's been great to work with him."

Defensive work is not an aspect of Wilshere's game that he's particularly known for, and his employer has clearly been pleased by his recent developments.

Howe also speculated on pressure, as factor in limiting Wilshere's previous performances.

"The thing for us was to get Jack to enjoy his work, his training, try to get his mind off everything that goes around that - he's under a lot of pressure, he's under the microscope with everything he does." The 38-year-old said.

"I think he can achieve anything that he wants. He's been hampered by serious injuries and when you've been out of football for two years, it's a very difficult thing to pick up your highest level, so he's building towards that and he's improving every game."

Wilshere's injuries are no secret and the better his physical condition, the more Bournemouth will benefit.

The Cherries currently sit in 13th place in the Premier League and the England midfielder will be pivotal in Howe's plans to build on the work of last season.
