Ed Woodward Reportedly Met Top Agents Ahead of UCL Final to Open Talks for Star Players

"?Ed Woodward watched the Champions League final on Saturday and scouted potential transfer targets for Manchester United, the "?Daily Star report.

The Red Devils executive vice-chairman flew into Italy before the San Siro showpiece between Atletico and Real Madrid to meet up with top agents.

United desperately need to bolster their attacking options and Woodward took the opportunity to run the rule over Saul Niguez and Karim Benzema.

Jose Mourinho took over the Old Trafford managerial reins on Friday and he is set to be given a £200m warchest.

Mourinho has been tasked with restoring the fallen giants to former glory and has drawn up a wish-list of players he wants, with the Portuguese coach a huge admirer of Niguez. The silky midfielder's £54m buy-out clause, however, could be a stumbling block.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have expressed an interest in buying Robert Lewandowski, which could signal the end of Benzema's stint at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Benzema has been blighted by off-the-field controversy in recent seasons, but he is still a clinical finisher who could help propel United back up the Premier League table.

The Red Devils have also been placed on red alert after it was revealed Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang is set to leave Borussia Dortmund.

The electrifying striker has requested to be excused from international duty with Gabon so that he can switch clubs but it will take a £70m offer to prize him from BVB's clutches.
