Despite earlier reports from Spain, it seems that David de Gea will remain a Manchester United player for the foreseeable future, according to a report in The Sun.
De Gea has apparently 'made it clear' that he no longer desires a move to Real Madrid with the Spain international having spent two 'agonising' weeks mulling over a potential switch to Real Madrid after concrete interest from the club's president Florentino Perez.
In fact, Perez earmarked De Gea as a vital signing in the summer and the stopper's change of heart is said to have angered the Galacticos' hierarchy.

Journalist Duncan Castles also reported on Madrid's failure to land De Gea, writing for One World Sports. Castles confirmed the inclusion of a clause in the Spaniard's contract concerning only Real Madrid, which is set to expire on June 15. The clause guaranteed United a large some of money if De Gea were to depart to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The goalkeeper was certain that he was going to become a Galactico last month. However, the sacking of the former United manager Louis van Gaal and the arrival of Jose Mourinho are said to have completely altered De Gea's rationale.
Sources close to the former Atletico Madrid player now say that they are 'unsure' of whether the once inevitable move will take place.

Castles also suggested that Mourinho has been in regular contact with De Gea since accepting the post as United boss. The Portuguese is confident that De Gea will remain at Old Trafford and has Thibaut Courtois in line as a replacement if his confidence proves to be misplaced.
Perez, meanwhile, is frantically trying to tempt the 25-year-old to his side through any means possible. He reportedly told the Real Madrid players in the Spain squad to convince De Gea into making yet another change of heart.
Perez is also pushing for an extension on Madrid's option to purchase De Gea for an additional year. This is seen as an action Manchester United are unlikely to take, according to sources close to negotiations.
