Daniele De Rossi Makes Amazing Gesture to Roma Teammate Alessandro Florenzi After Serious Injury

"?Getting injured is probably one of the worst things that can happen to a professional footballer, especially when it rules you out for as long as half a season.

Unfortunately that's exactly what has happened to Roma defender and midfielder Alessandro Florenzi, who suffered a rupture to his anterior cruciate ligament during his side's victory over Sassuolo on Wednesday night. The 25-year-old has been ruled up for up to six months after being stretchered off on Wednesday, but seems in good spirits despite his setback..

"Thanks to everyone for their support."

He's also lucky to have some obviously great teammates. Daniele De Rossi, who has played for Roma since joining the club as a youth player in 2000, reportedly waited with Florenzi's family until they heard the results of the scan.

That gesture may seem nice yet not unbelievable, but De Rossi was reportedly at the hospital as late as 4am in the morning. De Rossi could have had training to report to in just a few hours, but to stay with Florenzi's family when they will have been feeling upset shows the better side of footballers in the modern game.

Daniele De Rossi was at the hospital visiting @Florenzi until 4am last night.
