Crystal Palace Star is the Most Creative Player in the Premier League So Far This Season

Published on: 26 September 2016

Somewhat surprisingly, "?Crystal Palace midfielder Jason Puncheon has been the most creative player in the Premier League so far this season, which is saying a lot, considering the fact that he plays in the same division as David Silva, Cesc Fabregas, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Eden Hazard.

Puncheon has created 22 chances for his teammates from just six outings, with an average of nearly four per game.

The 30-year-old created eight chances in Palace's 3-2 comeback win against Sunderland on Saturday. The Eagles fought back from 2-0 down, with Joe Ledley and James McArthur levelling late and new striker Christian Benteke scoring during extra time to give his team the win.

Puncheon's 22 chances means he leads the Premier League's top key pass men, just trumping Kevin De Bruyne and Willian, who have both created 20 chances each.

Costing Palace just £1.75 million in 2014, Puncheon is now more productive - in terms of chance creation - than last season's Player of the Year Riyad Mahrez, as well as Dimitri Payet and Mesut Ozil.

All that said, it's also fair to note that Puncheon's 22 chances have only led to two goals so far this season, while De Bruyn"?e's 20 have seen the ball hit the back of the net on four occasions.
