"?Crystal Palace have been hit with an injury blow ahead of their match against Middlesbrough on Saturday.
French striker Loic Remy has suffered an ankle injury during training, and will now be returning to parent club Chelsea for treatment. The forward joined the Eagles on loan for the rest of the season, and had hoped to get major minutes under Alan Pardew, but that won't be happening any time soon, given his latest setback.
A Statement on the club's "?official website reads: "Crystal Palace Football Club can confirm that Loic Remy has returned to Chelsea Football Club, after sustaining an injury during a training session earlier this week.
"The injury is expected to keep him out for a number of weeks but he will be continually assessed during his rehabilitation. The club's medical team are liaising with their counterparts at Chelsea to monitor his progress."
"It is obviously a blow for the player and for us as a squad," said Pardew.
"He has just joined us and we were hoping he would play a big part in the team moving forward. He was looking great in training and this was an innocuous injury which can sometimes happen unfortunately"?.
This must come as a real disappointment to the player, who had finally secured a chance of playing regular football. With Diego Costa and newcomer Michy Batshuayi set to grab all the minutes up front for Chelsea, his chances were very slim.
The club did try to do him a favour by sending him on loan, but it's just his poor luck.
