Criscito: There has been no contact with Roma

Zenit Saint Petersburg defender Domenico Criscito has not been in contact with Roma about a possible transfer back to Italy in the summer.

The 29-year-old has worked with Giallorossi tactician Luciano Spalletti at Zenit but the left-back has not been involved in any discussions with the Roman club and he is focused on working with new coach Mircea Lucescu.

“I have not heard anything from Roma nor Spalletti, there has not been any contact,” Criscito said to Tele Radio Stereo. “However, I am very happy for him. Since he has returned to the Giallorossi, he has done very well and he has brought Roma to a high level.

“With Lucescu, we are aiming to win. He is a great coach and we have the desire to do well.”

Criscito has not played for Italy since 2014 and he has not been selected for the Azzurri squad playing at EURO 2016 but he will support the side.

“I will support Conte’s team,” he added. “I hope they can win the European Championship.”
