Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is on the verge of signing for Arsenal and is due to undergo a medical after the north London club activated his £22m release clause, ESPN FC report.
Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has confirmed the deal is to go ahead, whilst potential Arsenal team-mate Olivier Giroud has spoken of his excitement at linking up with the Premier League-winning forward.
The 29-year-old's move to the Emirates has somewhat come under the radar, but Arsenal chiefs have taken advantage of the fact that the England forward has a release clause stipulating a club competing in the Champions League can start talks with the player if they bid £22m for his services.
It is understood Arsenal are already moving quickly in that respect with reports claiming personal terms have been discussed and a potential weekly wage of £120,000 is on the table for the former Fleetwood forward,
It would be around £40,000 more than he earns on his current contract- a contract he only signed three months ago.
The Leicester forward is currently on England duty ahead of Euro 2016, which starts on Saturday for England against Russia, and Arsene Wenger and Arsenal are understood to have set the medical for Sunday before Vardy and the rest of the England squad board on a train to France on Monday.

Whilst not official yet, this deal seems close to being finalised after Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri gave a swift response to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport when asked if the rumours of a Vardy move were true.
He simply stated: "It's all true," when they asked him on Saturday.
Meanwhile, potential Arsenal team-mate Olivier Giroud has been speaking of his desire to work with Vardy in the aftermath of France's comfortable 3-0 victory over Scotland on Saturday.
The forward scored two goals to go with the one he scored against Cameroon after a somewhat disappointing end to his club campaign but he told Sky Sports that Vardy's attributes would be 'complimentary' after all but confirming a deal had been reached.
