Wales boss Chris Coleman is sweating on the fitness of Joe Ledley ahead of the European Championships, "?"?ITV"? report.
Ledley played a key role in helping the Dragons to qualify for this summer's tournament but he faces the agony of missing out on the action due to injury.
The 29-year-old fractured his leg playing for Crystal Palace against Stoke at the beginning of May, but Coleman is willing to take a risk on him if he can recover in time for Wales' final group game against Russia.
"I know my 23 now and the big one is Joe", Coleman told reporters. "It's just about time length. We are hoping and praying there will be good news.
"It's all on those first three games for us, we can't really think beyond that. I've got a duty to the squad of players to consider how we give ourselves the best possible chance of getting out of that group.
"That's a conversation I will have with Joe and the medical team. We will look at his chances of playing in those three games and work off that. We are going to have a choice. Can we wait a little longer or are we going to run out of time?
"It's so disappointing for Joe that we are in this position, thinking 'can he or can't he?' He has done as much as anyone to get us there and he's important to us on the pitch and off the pitch."
The combative midfielder linked up with the squad at their training camp in Portugal and he was running freely in individual fitness sessions, which has given everyone hope he will sneak into the final 23-man squad.
Wales will play one more warm-up game against Sweden on Sunday before travelling to France to take part in their first major tournament since 1958.
If they wish to reach the knock-out stages they will have to pass tricky tests against England, Slovakia and Russia.
