Chinese Super League Club Reportedly Bid €28m for Juventus Striker Mario Mandzukic

"?Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjian have reportedly bid €28m for Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic.

According to "?"?Tuttosport, the Italian giants have turned down the offer that would have seen Mandzukic earn €7.5m a year.

Former Juve defender Fabio Cannavaro is currently manager of the Chinese side, but despite the increase in salary, Mandzukic is believed to be uninterested in a move to Asia.

Tianjin recently scuppered the Bianconeri's attempt to sign Belgian midfielder Alex Witsel, which has also somewhat soured any potential negotiations between the two clubs.

Cannavaro's side reportedly failed to lure their number one target Nikola Kalinic - another Croatian forward - from Fiorentina.

"?TalkSport claimed last month that Premier League clubs West Ham and Tottenham were showing interest in Mandzukic, and that he would potentially be available at an affordable price.

Spurs could be looking for another option to support Harry Kane, with Vincent Janssen yet to impress since joining the club. West Ham, meanwhile, have struggled in attack, although Andy Carroll's has made an impressive return to action.

But Juve's reluctance to sell to Tianjin could mean that any future attempts to sign the player could also be rebuffed.

The 30-year-old has scored four goals in 16 Serie A appearances so far this campaign, with Juve four points clear at the top of the table.
