Winger Juan Cuadrado is thought to be close to the exit door once again, with a loan move to Juventus drawing closer after the 28-year-old Colombian made 40 appearances for the Italian champions in a similar deal last season.
News also broke on Tuesday night of an offer for Paris Saint-Germain defender and former Blue David Luiz, with claims that Antonio Conte is looking at the Brazilian centre-back to beef up his options at the back.
Conte's Chelsea have also been scouting Serie A for defensive cover, with John Terry and Gary Cahill currently the only available senior centre-backs with Kurt Zouma still out injured - and Conte reportedly knows Alonso well from his time in Italy.

Alonso made one La Liga appearance for Real Madrid during the 2009-10 season, having mainly featured for the Castilla side, before joining Bolton. He chances at the English club were limited until the 2012-13 season, when he made 26 appearances in the league, scoring four goals.
Chelsea have had a good start to the season under Conte's leadership, winning three games from three in the Premier League sit near the top of the table at the end of the first month.
