"?Chelsea and Spain winger Pedro expects his former coach Pep Guardiola to struggle in his role as Manchester City manager, as reported by "?Sky Sports.
Pedro worked under the 45-year-old coach at Barcelona, and the pair enjoyed a very fruitful period at the Camp Nou.
Guardiola, who subsequently moved to Bayern Munich, is set to take over at City, with Carlo Ancelotti - a former Chelsea coach - to replace him at the helm of the German club.
The Spaniard's ideology is based on stylish brand of possession football, which brought him 14 trophies during his four years at Barcelona. However, Pedro believes that the manager could face some difficulty in expressing his football through City's players.
"Although we know he is a great coach, Pep is not going to have it easy," said Pedro, who is presently on international duty with Spain.
"It's a difficult league, complicated. I don't think he will be able to express his football.
"He is faithful to his ideas and he can convince his players to change the philosophy of direct play by playing more elaborate football.
"We shall see how his first year goes."
Meanwhile, the player has backed Jose Mourinho to be a success at Manchester United. The Portuguese, who was axed by Roman Abramovich at Chelsea in December, will begin next season as the Red Devils' boss.
"One thing is certain, he will bring a lot of intensity," Pedro said of the 53-year-old.
"It's going to be a very strong team and consistent at the back. He has a lot of character and very clear ideas."
