"?Chelsea are expected to ramp up their interest in Liverpool striker Christian Benteke, according to a report in the "?Liverpool Echo.
Liverpool are thought to be looking to recoup most of the £32m fee they paid Aston Villa for Benteke last summer, after the player failed to make an impression on the club's first team.
According to the source, Chelsea's incoming boss Antonio Conte wants to pair the Belgium striker with Diego Costa in order to strengthen the versatility of his front-line.
Benteke, who is in France for the European Championships with his national team, is reported to have fallen out with manager Jurgen Klopp over his position within the team in recent months, and Liverpool will consider selling the player for the right price. It is widely assumed that the Belgian does not fit in with Klopp's style of play, with the majority of his performances coming from the bench.
Benteke hit nine goals in 29 Premier League appearances for the Reds last term - 14 of which were starts - following his move from Aston Villa.
The Reds will however need to think carefully about accepting an offer from the Blues, who will be considered a direct rival for the top four positions next season.
In sum, it appears that the former Aston Villa striker's days are numbered at the club, and with the Reds apparent interest in Robert Lewandowski and Gonzalo Higuain, his move away from Anfield is expected to be formalised after the European Championships. West Ham have also been mooted as a possible destination for the 25-year-old.
