"?Joe Allen's agent has warned Celtic that the Welshman would be difficult to tempt to Celtic Park, due to the amount of money that would be needed.
Brendan Rodgers recently signed on as Celtic manager, and is reportedly keen on bringing Allen to Glasgow with him - having originally signed the Welshman from Swansea, another ex-club, when he was on Merseyside.
Allen's agent Glen Corcoran told the "?Record: "I haven't given any thought whatsoever to it with regards to Celtic or any club.
"If Liverpool were willing to sell "? and that is a big 'if' because I've not had that conversation with the club "? they would ask for too much money for him.
"I don't know if Celtic at this moment would be willing to spend that sort of money and the wages would also be a massive issue."
The 26-year-old has struggled to gain regular game time after Rodgers was replaced by Jurgen Klopp in October 2015, and may be willing to try a new club - particularly as Liverpool's 8th place finish, and defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League final means that they are without European football next season.
The Record also report that Allen is on £45,000 a week at Anfield, which is the same wage that Rodgers has agreed to at the SPL champions, on a 12 month rolling contract.
Another player linked to Celtic, Robert Snodgrass, has said that he is happy to stay at Hull City, who were promoted to the Premier League.
"A new manager has gone into Celtic and it's great for Scottish football "? but I am a Hull player. The supporters have been terrific for me.
"I have a three-year contract and I'm going to give this club every drop I have until I am told otherwise. Anything that happens outside I don't think I can control."?
