CAF, LOC Meet With AFCON-Bound Nations, Confirm Key Preparations for Morocco 2025

Published on: 27 November 2025

In preparation for a smooth and successful 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, the Confederation of African Football, CAF, and the Local Organizing Committee, LOC, held a virtual meeting with representatives of all 24 qualified national teams, where several administrative, logistical, and technical decisions were finalized, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The meeting produced key resolutions that will guide the tournament’s operations. Each participating country is permitted to register a maximum of 28 players, selected from their earlier submitted 55-man provisional list. In addition, a total of 17 backroom staff members will be allowed per team, covering technical, medical, and administrative roles.

CAF confirmed that teams can arrive in Morocco up to five days before the opening ceremony to aid adequate preparation, while clubs are mandated to release their invited players by December 8 in line with FIFA’s official regulations.

Discussions also covered crucial arrangements such as visa processing for officials, training facilities, team accommodations, doping protocols, medical requirements, media duties, and commercial procedures.

Technical and Security Requests

Coaches reportedly requested additional technical seats behind the dugouts, similar to structures used in top global leagues, to enhance real-time match analysis. Delegations also stressed the need for strict security and privacy around team hotels to prevent interference and maintain focus throughout the competition.

Transportation Support

The LOC confirmed comprehensive transport support for all participating nations, starting from five days before their first fixture until 24 hours after their final match. This support includes:

  • One 50-seater team bus

  • A dedicated vehicle for the head of delegation

  • An equipment truck

  • Full airport and inter-city transfers

Tournament Schedule

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will kick off on December 21, 2025, and run through January 18, 2026, with Morocco set to host what promises to be a historic and tightly organized edition of the tournament.
