"?Borussia Monchengladbach director, Max Eberl, has rubbished rumours that Chelsea have a buy-back clause written into Thorgan Hazard's contract at the German club.
Thorgan Hazard is the younger brother of Chelsea's own Eden Hazard and like the Chelsea star, he plays as a wide man for his club. The younger Hazard brother has been in fine form for Gladbach this season, scoring against Barcelona in the German side's 2-1 Champions League defeat on Wednesday.
It means the young star has now scored an incredible seven goals in eight games and his form has already led to speculation that many of Europe's top clubs are keeping a close eye on the Belgium international.
Having spent three seasons at Chelsea from 2012-2015, some media reports have suggested that the Blues have a buy-back clause written into Hazard's contract - but Eberl has rubbished those rumours in an interview with "?Express in Germany.

He told reporters: "There is no clause. There is also no deadline for anything. I don't want to comment on any elements of the contract [but] we also don't need to make any secrets about it: If we get a top player from Chelsea, then of course Chelsea also have the opportunity, in any form whatsoever, to think about them for themselves again "? but they haven't actively done so!"

It should be noted that his comments have simply been translated so there could be some confusion swapping between languages, but the director's comments did seem to suggest another agreement could be reached.
Thankfully for Chelsea the situation with their on loan youngster Andreas Christensen, who is also at Gladbach, is much clearer. The Blues are eager to have him return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season with the hope he can become a future star for the London club.
Eberl though, has suggested the German team would be willing to make a permanent offer for the Danish defender.
When discussing a possible offer for Christensen, the Gladbach director said: "It is a complicated situation and we need to have this conversation with Chelsea. We have a very good relationship with Chelsea. This is going to take time."
Whether Chelsea will oblige and enter negotiations surrounding both players is unknown. With the defensive frailties they have shown they will likely want to keep Christensen and give the Dane a chance to shine at some point.
As for Thorgan Hazard, he still has a long way to go before he reaches the levels older brother, Eden, has reached at Chelsea. If he can maintain his goal-scoring form and continue to impress in the Champions League, then he will certainly catch the eye of Europe's top club.
The more he does, the more Chelsea fans will hope that some agreement can be reached to reunite the Hazard brothers at the club once again.
