"?Borussia Dortmund are ready to make a decision on the future of midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan this week, with several clubs keen to finalise a deal with the player.
"?Bild has reported that Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has confirmed discussions will take place at some point this week, with the view to sort out Mkhitaryan's future as soon as possible. When asked about the player's future, Zorc stated: "We will make a decision this week."
The 27-year-old has sparked immense interest from several high-profile clubs after the player's agent Mino Raiola suggested there are no plans to extend his current contract, which runs out in the summer of 2017.
Dortmund are yet to have decided on the best course of action regarding the midfielder's situation. The club can decide to sell the player this summer in order to receive a lump sum to spend on replacing the Bundesliga star for the upcoming campaign. The alternative would be to force the player to see out his remaining contract, risking losing Mkhitaryan on a free transfer next summer.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly all on alert regarding the decision to possibly sell the Armenian international, with "?ESPN reporting that the latter have made Mkhitaryan their primary target for the rest of the transfer window.
All three clubs are willing to make transfer bids in excess of £25m, a sum which could tempt the club to allow the player to move away from the Westfalenstadion this summer, joining the list of key players to recently depart Dortmund, including Mat Hummels to Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich and Ilkay Gundogan to Premier League side Manchester City.
