"?Borussia Dortmund have denied claims that Manchester City are set to sign striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, calling it 'pure speculation'.
According to reports from "?Bild, representatives from the German club have quashed any rumours that the Bundesliga star will be moving to the Premier League this summer, with Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc insisting that the talk of a move is 'pure speculation'.
German news outlet "?DPA has also reported how the club's media director has come out to suggest that Dortmund know 'nothing about the story', and are 'unaware of City's interest'.
News of the Gabon international leaving Dortmund gained momentum after rumours suggested that City were to make an offer in excess of £50m for the striker, having already confirmed the signing of his former Dortmund team mate and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan in this summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old has been quoted as admiring La Liga however, which would be his favoured destination should he wish to leave Dortmund in the future, but any move away from the Signal Iduna Park stadium appears unlikely.
Along with Gundogan heading to the Etihad Stadium, Dortmund have also sold a key player in Mats Hummels this summer, who joins German rivals Bayern Munich, while they are also trying to keep hold of Henrikh Mykhitaryan. The Albanian has provoked large amounts of interest from Arsenal, after the midfielder refused to extend his contract passed 2017.
Despite losing these players, BVB have also been busy rebuilding ahead of the new campaign, adding the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Sebastian Rode and Marc Bartra.
