"?Watford midfielder Ben Watson has agreed a one-year extension to his contract at Vicarage Road just a day after the end of a successful season for the Hornets, which saw the club avoid relegation from the Premier League for the first time.
Watson featured in all but three of the club's league games as they fought their way to an impressive 13th place finish, ending the campaign ahead of fellow promoted clubs Bournemouth and Norwich thanks to a flying first half to the season.

Despite that impressive league form and the club reaching the semi-final stage of the FA Cup, where they were knocked out by Crystal Palace, manager Quique Sanchez Flores was released by the club as they look for a new direction.
Watson, who joined the club in January 2015, "?said of Flores at the end of last month: "I thought he'd be up for manager of the year. He's the best manager I've worked under. He's been fantastic this season, he's brought different ideas and him and his staff have been great."
The club's statement on Watson's new contract read: "Ben Watson has agreed a one-year extension to his contract at Vicarage Road.The midfielder, who was halfway through a two-year deal, has now committed himself to the Hornets until 2018.

"Watson was a mainstay in Watford's midfield this season, playing 41 times, including 35 outings in the Premier League, as well as scoring goals against Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion.
