Bayern Munich striker "?Robert Lewandowski will not be sold this summer, according to the club's chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Real Madrid are believed to be keen to sign the Poland international with his agent Cezary Kucharski admitting to contact with the Champions League winners.

"Real Madrid got in touch with us a few weeks ago and we have had several meetings,"

Kucharski said last week via AS. "It is a big club and an exciting prospect and we listened. We have also told Bayern that there has been contact with Real Madrid."?

Bayern Munich have responded to the rumours with a categorical 'no' as Rummenigge said: "Lewandowski will be at Bayern next season."

Technical director Michael Reschke echoed that sentiment while speaking to Radio CRC.

"I can tell you categorically that Lewandowski will remain a Bayern player," Reschke said. "He has three years left on his contract, he is the best striker in the world and there is absolutely no possibility that he will be sold."

When asked about the prospect of signing Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain to replace Lewandowski, Reschke conceded that the Argentine is one of the best in the world, but stressed his belief that Bayern have a better striker.

"Higuaín is among the three or four best strikers in the world, but Lewandowski is the best," he added. "There is no reason to sign another player for this position."?
