Bayern Munich Target Ederson Would Prefer Move to Manchester City

"?Benfica 'keeper and Bayern Munich target Ederson has revealed that "?he would prefer a move to Manchester City over the German club, according to the "?Express.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim that both sides are interested in the 22-year-old Brazilian, who moved to Portugal from Brazil back in 2012, while Inter Milan are also thought to be keeping an eye on the player.

Ederson broke into the Benfica first-team last season, displacing Julio Cesar in the process, and the under-23 international is happy to remain in Portugal for now.

"City or Munich? They are two great teams, two teams that will fight for titles next season. But I prefer England and City," Ederson said in a Facebook Q&A.

"I will not leave (Benfica), do not want to and do not intend to. Although the decision is not always 100 percent made by the player. Unfortunately."

Asked if he would see himself playing for Benfica's rivals Porto or Sporting Lisbon, he replied: "When you are in heaven you do not want to come down. At this point I would not play for Porto or Sporting. It's just Benfica, Benfica, Benfica."

Incoming City manager Pep Guardiola is said to be looking at his goalkeeping options this season. It is understood that he is uncomfortable with current number 1 Joe Hart's inability to play as a "sweeper keeper."

This led to reports that City were to offer current Bayern stopper Manuel Neuer a £300k per-week contract to move to the Etihad, a rumour that was instantly put down by the Bundesliga champions who have no intention to sell.
