Bayern Munich starlet Renato Sanches has revealed that he 'acted on his gut instinct' in his decision to join the Bavarian outfit over Manchester United earlier this summer.
The 19-year-old, who starred in Portugal's Euro 2016 winning side, left Benfica to join Bayern for an initial €35m in July, a figure which is set to rise €80m depending on clauses.
The switch came as a blow to Manchester United, who had declared their interest in the youngster at the tail-end of last season.
Last week Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge revealed how he used "?Man Utd's uncertain managerial situation to his advantage in signing Sanches.
He told SportBild: "We knew very well that Renato had a firm offer from Manchester United.
"I heard that the United deal couldn't be completed, as they didn't know who their next manager would be. We invited Benfica's president and Sanches' agent to Madrid and that night we shook hands on the transfer."?

But Sanches admits that as soon as he heard Bayern were interested, he had made up his mind on a potential switch.
"I had a good feeling about it right away when I heard about Bayern Munich's interest,"? said the midfield starlet." Sanches said, as quoted in the "?Daily Star.
"They really put in a lot of effort and I immediately got a feeling the people in charge believed in me as a player.
"That was the decisive factor behind my decision to join Bayern."
Bayern have been unrivalled in the Bundesliga this season, winning their opening four games under Carlo Ancelotti, scoring 14 times and conceding just once.
