Barcelona Confirm Premier League Target Sandro Will Be Released

"?Barcelona forward Sandro Ramirez will be allowed to leave the club on a free transfer this summer according to technical director Robert Fernandez.

The 20-year-old was wanted by Tottenham, Everton, Crystal Palace and Swansea last year but chose to stay with the Catalan side amid their transfer embargo.

It is for that reason that Barcelona are willing to allow Sandro to explore his options and leave for free rather than activate the one year extension option they have in his contract and possibly command a transfer fee in any move.

"Last summer Sandro had an offer to leave,"? Fernandez told Barca TV via Squawka.

"He evaluated the situation we had in that moment, that we could not sign anyone, and he made an effort to stay. We are very thankful for that.

"But there was a date, May 1, that we could have extended his contract another year, but after the way he has behaved [agreeing to stay], we believed it was better to open the door for him to explore other opportunities."?

Sandro made 20 appearances for Barcelona this season, scoring three goals and chipping in with two assists in all competitions as the Catalans won La Liga and the Copa del Rey once again.
