"?Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez has spoken out about the reported £54m move to Manchester United.
The 21-year-old shot to fame this season after a sensational solo goal against Bayern Munich in their Champions League semi-final, which topped off a fantastic campaign.
The Spanish side went on to lose the Champions League final on penalties to city rivals Real, but new Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is said to be impressed by what he has seen by the youngster.
The Portuguese manager has reportedly been given a £200m transfer budget to revamp the squad at Old Trafford and has his sights firmly set on Saul.
The Spaniard, however, has a £54m release clause, which will have to be triggered as Atletico are unlikely to sell the Spanish star for any lower then that, but this is not a stalling block for the Red Devils.
Despite the heavy interest from Manchester United, Saul has reiterated his desire to remain in Madrid.
"I'm fine in Madrid, I play often and I'm happy", said the midfielder speaking to AS, via the Express.
"Atletico is the club where I intend to stay."
Asked about the prospect about manager Diego Simeone remaining with the club, despite reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain, the young defender said:
"Simeone? We all want him to stay."?
Siemone has now lost two Champions League finals with Atletico and is said to be growing frustrated at not having enough money to spend in the transfer market.
Speaking after his side's 2016 Champions League final defeat in Milan, Simeone told reporters he would have to think about his future, before going on to say that he felt responsible for his team's defeat.
"What really hurts me is to see the hurt of the people who've paid to come here - I feel a bit responsible that I wasn't able to give them what they wanted. That's what really hurts. I feel responsible for the fans who have bought their tickets."
It is thought that, although there is interest from PSG, Simeone is keen to carry on his work with Atletico.
