AS Roma Tracking Manchester City Trio With View to Free Summer Transfers

"?A trio of Manchester City full backs will be out of contract this summer and could potentially leave the club for free.

Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna, and Gael Clichy all have less than a year left on their City contracts and the "?Sun report that all three are being tracked by Serie A side AS Roma. Despite being second in Serie A, Roma have conceded ten league goals in eight league games this season, twice as many as leaders Juventus.

Because of this, Roma boss Luciano Spalletti is said to be looking at defensive reinforcements and could potentially sign up any of the trio from Pep Guardiola's team for free on a pre-contract agreement in January.

The trio are loyal servants to the team, having racked up a combined 15 seasons at the clubs, eight of those by Argentine player Zabaleta.

However, the full back made only 13 league appearances last season and has only featured three times in the Premier League this term.

Frenchman Sagna has only played half of City's league games, as has fellow former Arsenal man Clichy.

Guardiola appears to be not too impressed with his current options at full back and could chose to invest heavily in some new players in that position, this could allow Roma the chance to recruit any of the City trio for free.
