Arsene Wenger Primed to Welcome Back Kieran Gibbs for Arsenal's Champions League Clash With PSG

"?Arsene Wenger says he is expecting Kieran Gibbs to return for Arsenal's Champions League showdown with Paris Saint-Germain after the full-back missed the win over Southampton, according to the "?International Business Times

After resting Granit Xhaka and Alexis Sanchez for the last-gasp victory over the Saints, Wenger is set to have a bolstered squad to choose from as he prepares for the trip to Parc des Princes on Tuesday night, while still missing several senior players, including Danny Welbeck, Aaron Ramsey and Per Mertesacker.

While the return of Gibbs is a welcome boost for the Gunners, Wenger is undecided whether he will start Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez in France after admitting the two debutants struggled slightly with the pace of the game against Southampton.

"I have to decide that," Wenger said. "We will see how everyone is tomorrow morning. For Tuesday, we might just have Gibbs coming back, who was not in the squad today. It's possible they are in the squad.

"I feel both are short [of fitness] a bit, they lack competition and their second half was much better than their first half. They were a bit surprised by the pace and the commitment of the Premier League [but] they will adapt to that. As well, they were a bit on their nerves in the first half. In the second it was much better."

"He [Perez] has had one game in La Liga, and then he didn't play many more because they knew he would go. Mustafi has only played one half since the start of the season with Valencia, so they are missing games."
