"?Arsene Wenger believes Jamie Vardy will not start for England at the European Championship's, due to not having enough international experience.
"?In an interview with beIN Sports, as quoted by the "?Mail Online, Wenger spoke about the striker, who appears to be on the verge of joining him at Arsenal, and said European defence's will have done their homework on Jamie Vardy.
The Leicester City striker's apparent move to Arsenal is still up in the air after Arsenal activated his release clause with a bid in the region of £20m. "?Leicester have reportedly gone close to matching Arsenal's contract offer of £120k-per-week, but fans for both sides eagerly and anxiously await the player's final decision.
Wenger did say that the striker deserves to be in France this summer, however: "I don't think that Vardy will be a starter - he has earned his place in the squad. I don't say this because he does not have the quality, but because he doesn't have enough experience at that level to say the whole tournament will depend on Vardy. Will he be there? Certainly."
Wenger went on to say, "Football progresses always. The offence creates a new problem, the defence responds. What has happened in the last 10 years is that the strikers have become quicker and quicker. What's happened? The defence have responded by creating quicker and quicker defenders."
Vardy was the second top goal-scorer in the league this year, just one goal less than Harry Kane of Tottenham.
Roy Hodgson is concerned that the transfer cloud looming over Vardy's head will have an adverse affect on his performance in France. "?Hodgson said last week, "The one thing this group of players know and have accepted is that when you are on England duty, you are on England duty. It is not a question of you sorting out your future, or diving off for medicals."
The striker was a revelation to champions Leicester City last season, scoring 24 league goals and ultimately propelling them towards the title.
