Arsene Wenger Aiming to Make Two More Signings After Landing Granit Xhaka

Published on: 18 June 2016

"?Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said that the club plans to make two more signings following the acquisition of Granit Xhaka from Borrusia Monchengladbach this summer.

The Gunners completed the £30m transfer before the start of Euro 2016, and Wenger is hopeful of bringing more players in after the competition is done, having lost three players to date.

He doesn't plan to sign more than three players, and speaking to Chinese media outlet "?Tencent Sport, the French manager insists that signing more players than necessary could destabilise a team.

"We've already bought one player "? Granit Xhaka "? from Monchengladbach, because we've lost three players," he said. "We've lost [Mikel] Arteta, we've lost [Tomas] Rosicky and [Mathieu] Flamini.

"So we've bought one midfielder and we're still in the market to buy one or two more players.

"But it is not easy. It is not just buying. We also have to keep a good balance. If you buy too many players you destabilise your team. So three is the maximum."?

One of those players is expected to be Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, who is currently on Euro 16 duty with England. Wenger, though, has cast doubt on the move, even after triggering the 29-year-old's release clause.

He said: "At the moment Jamie Vardy is at Leicester and, on what I know, he will stay at Leicester."?

The Gunners boss added that he has been impressed with some of the young talent presently at the Euros, highlighting Turkey's Emre Mor.

"I saw an very interesting talent come on the other day for Turkey "? [Emre] Mor. He came on the other day against Croatia and I was very impressed with his talent."?

He also seems very interested in German pair Julian Draxler and Leroy Sane.

"There are some other players like [Leroy] Sane in Germany, who has not played yet,"? Wenger went on to add.

It will be very interesting to follow what [Julian] Draxler is doing as well. There's plenty to watch."?
