Arsenal Midfielder Jack Wilshere Ready to Prove His Credentials at Euros to Manager Arsene Wenger

Published on: 03 June 2016

Arsenal's much-chastised midfielder "?Jack Wilshere has stated that the forthcoming European Championship is his opportunity to demonstrate to manager Arsene Wenger that he is still a capable player, worthy of featuring for the Gunners, according to their "?official website.

Much has been debated over the decision by England manager Roy Hodgson to call-up the 24-year-old, despite his season, and indeed much of his career having been blighted by injury, with Wilshere only featuring three times in the Premier League this season for the club.

The Stevenage-born player, who had once drawn comparisons with Barcelona star Andres Iniesta, told Arsenal.com that he feels ready, despite his recent injury setbacks:

"I feel fit and ready.

"Every single Premier League manager will be watching every single Premier League footballer [at the Euros].

"Arsène Wenger will be watching so it is down to me to show what I can do."

Speculation, however, continues to persist that the midfielder's days are numbered, in part down to his persistent injuries and lack of showing with Manchester City having been "?linked with him in recent weeks.

Manager Arsene Wenger will now hope that Wilshere makes good on his promise and performs admirably for the Three Lions during their Euro campaign.

Wilshere himself is confident in their chances of progression, saying:

"We have some great players, a young squad and a great chance. We have players on the pitch who can score goals, we have many strengths, and going forward is probably our main one, but defensively as well we are starting to look good."?
