"?Arsenal are eager to offer attacking stars Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez new contracts, "?according to the Daily Mail.
Having spent over £80m in the summer on new signings like Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi, the Gunners are looking to tie down their top talents to new, improved deals.
Ozil's wage could rise to £130,000 a week, while Sanchez is reportedly in line for a new £140,000 contract.
The futures of English trio Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieron Gibbs and Jack Wilshere are less certain however. Oxlade-Chamberlain has found playing time limited in recent seasons, although he has featured prominently for the North London outfit during the early matches of this season.
Gibbs, however, has had to make do as a backup to Spanish left-back Nacho Monreal, while Jack Wilshere has been shipped out on loan to Premier League rivals Bournemouth. While Arsenal are seemingly moving quickly to finalise deals for Ozil and Sanchez - who are both in the final two years of their deals - the same urgency doesn't appear to so forthcoming with regards to new contracts for Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gibbs and Wilshere.
As well as signing Mustafi and Xhaka, the club also welcomed new striker Lucas Perez to the club, although his role so far seems a bit confused. He started the Premier League encounter against Southampton on Saturday up front, but then saw Sanchez line up as Arsenal's most prominent attacker against PSG in the Champions League in midweek - the Chilean subsequently appeared isolated for large periods of the game.
In fairness, Sanchez did ultimately win his side a point in France, with the introduction of Giroud up front moving Sanchez to the left, where he immediately looked far more threatening.
Despite being keen to offer the former Barcelona winger a new deal, Wenger has had problems with Sanchez in the past. Sanchez has made it clear before that he wants to be starting every game for the club, while Wenger has frequently reiterated that the Chilean will have to put up with rotation throughout the season.
