"?Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has revealed his delight after the warm welcome he received from Gunners fans during his debut for the club over the weekend, with the win over Southampton his first appearance since a £35m summer move from Valencia.
"I'm happy for the three points first of all, but I'm happy for how the supporters received me here and how the team made me feel part of it," Mustafi explained to Arsenal.com.
"It was important to play until the end, we know how football is today," the German World Cup winner also said on the subject of the game itself.
"If you don't concentrate for 90 minutes, you lose points. We concentrated until the end, and that's what gave us the winner."
It was a stoppage time penalty from Santi Cazorla that finally made the difference for Arsenal after an own goal from Petr Cech was cancelled out by Laurent Koscielny's 29th minute equaliser.
The result put Arsenal up into 6th place in the Premier League table after four games, and manager Arsene Wenger admitted that good fortune was probably on his side this weekend.
"It was a bit lucky, I must say," the Frenchman is quoted as saying by The Sun.
"Football is so special and you see all kinds of situations. We could have lost this game. We could have won it before. You have to accept in games the situation we faced. Maybe we were a bit lucky, especially in that situation."
Wenger and the Gunners can now turn their attention to the Champions League for the first time this season, with the daunting task of a Tuesday night away clash with Paris Saint-Germain now on the immediate horizon.
