Anthony Martial Is Happy at Manchester United and Plans to Become an Icon at Old Trafford

"?Manchester United's pacy French forward Anthony Martial has spoken out about his future at Old Trafford, claiming that he is 'happy' at the club.

The 20-year-old capped off an impressive first-season in Manchester with an FA Cup winners medal after his side beat Crystal Palace 2-1 in the FA Cup final.

Martial, who signed for the Red Devils at the beginning of the season for an initial £36m, also notched an impressive 17 goals in all competitions alongside four assists.

"?However, Man Utd agonisingly missed out of Champions League qualification to city-rivals Manchester City on goal difference, despite beating Bournemouth 3-1 on the final day of the season.

The prospect of a season without Champions League football hasn't dented Martial's chances of staying at Old Trafford, however, with the player insisting that he loves Manchester.

"I love Manchester and see myself being here for a good while yet," he told the "?Daily Mail.

"If I was to become an icon I'd be very happy but you can't possibly say at this stage. It depends how I play, how many goals I score and how I perform in the years to come.

"I'll need to score a lot of goals and the team will need to pick up trophies."

Martial will now travel to France to join up with his international teammates in the lead up to Euro 2016. Upon his return he may be greeted with a different manager in the United hot seat, with Louis van Gaal today telling reporters: "?"It's over."
