"?Andros Townsend admits that his newly found good form at Newcastle and his decision to leave the bench at Tottenham Hotspur in January has given fresh impetus to his international career, reports "?The Evening Standard

Townsend believes that his recent run at Newcastle will give him a sharp edge for England in the upcoming Euro's.

He said of his short yet positive career with Newcastle thus far, "I cannot speak highly enough of the Newcastle fans and manager Rafa Benitez. They have helped get my confidence from under the ground, where it was six months ago, to back up where I want it to be. I am back on top form. I feel good, fresh and sharp."

"I always said if I get a run of games, then I could get back to my best form and get back in the England squad. It has worked out that way,"? added Townsend, who was unfortunate to miss the World Cup two years ago due to an ankle injury.

The winger left White Hart Lane in January and hasn't looked back, having reignited his play at Newcastle and flourishing under Benitez. He barely featured for Tottenham, playing a mere 64 minutes of Premier League Football in the first half of the season.

Since then, he's made 13 appearances for the Magpies, netting four and assisting two on the back of a £12m move to St James' Park. If he can emulate his recent form for England at the Euro's, his addition to the provisional squad can only be seen as a positive for England fans.
