Former AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed he could have made a return to the Serie A side, but decided against it.
The 57-year-old is currently in charge of Bayern Munich, whom he took over following a year of coaching in the 2015/16 season, during which time he was linked with a move back to Milan.
“I liked the sabbatical I took and I needed the rest, not just mentally because I no longer put pressure on my football work,” Ancelotti told AS.
“I could have come back to Milan, but it did not seem like a good choice.”
Ancelotti coached the Rossoneri between 2001 and 2009, winning a Serie A title and two Champions League titles among other achievements.
