The Nigeria Beach Soccer League has announced a change in the host of phase two of the league after postponement from July to August, NigeriaSoccernet.com reports.
The second round of the 2025 edition, which was initially scheduled to take place in Kaduna State, will now happen in Anambra State.
It will now take place in Anambra State from the third week of August, 2025, during the YAM Festival.
It is worth noting that Nnewi in Anambra State hosted the second round of the 2024 NBSL season successfully.
In a release by the media of the league, a change in host venue was due to logistical reasons, warranting the inability of Kaduna to stage the second round.
This was confirmed by the league coordinator, Mahmud Hadejia, during a virtual meeting involving participating teams held over the weekend.
He said, last season, Nnewi was explosive! It gave the league a new vibe and a memorable experience for the first time it was hosted in the eastern part of the country. The teams enjoyed it, so we all want to experience it again.
In a related development, the third round of the league is being considered to be hosted in a new center with strong interest from Kwara State.
Round three will determine the teams that will qualify for the Super Six (6) Playoffs in Akwa Ibom State later in December.
Eight teams started the league when Round One took place in Kebbi State.
They are defending Champions Kebbi Fishers BSC, Kebbi United, Kada BSC, Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors, Nmanko Patigi BSC, Niger BSC, Ibom BSC, and Jigawa Golden Stars BSC.
