"?Alan Pardew wants to make a big name signing at Crystal Palace this summer, according to the "?Croydon Advertiser.
Pardew believes his side need to bring in a big name to change the clubs fortunes after a season that saw the club lose out in the FA Cup final to Manchester United.
"I think we have got to get players who are better than this. There is no point in getting players who are not potentially better than the ones we have got. So, will there be a big name in there? There's going to need to be," Pardew said.
"When managers say they are going to wait until the end of the season to make decisions, it's to review it all.
"At the end of the season we can weigh up everything that went on to try and find a solution that we didn't have from the second half of our season.
"We have got a lot of lessons to learn from this season. We need to refine it a little bit, and we are going to try to do that in the transfer market," Pardew added.
Having finished 15th in the Premier League Pardew has reminded fans at where this club has been for the last few years and believes the FA Cup final was a big achievement for the club.
"This is the first time this club has been in the Premier League for three years "? and we were in a cup final, I think some people lose perspective of the actual size of this club.
"Our fans maybe got carried away when we were flying at the top of the league, all the players were fit and it was all good," the former Newcastle boss said.
