Ofem Inah has completed a move to former Federation Cup winners, Akwa United, ahead of the new Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) scheduled to kick off in January.

The right-back after negotiations with the Promise Keepers in the off-season agreed personal terms that will see him spend the new campaign on loan with the Uyo club, supersport.com has been informed.

The agreement also comes with a further one-year option for the player to stay with Akwa United.

Ofem played last season with Rivers United and helped the Pride of Rivers finish runners-up behind champions Enugu Rangers.

However with the Rivers United head coach, Stanley Eguma, bringing in another right-back, Ifeanyi Nweke, from Nasarawa United for the new season in which they will compete in the Caf Champions League, the NPFL and the Federation Cup, Ofem did not get a new contract.

The move is return to a familiar terrain for Ofem as he played for Akwa United in his first season in the top-flight nine years ago.

Ofem has also previously played for Abia Warriors, Sharks, Sunshine Stars and Enyimba.
