The agent of AS Roma striker Edin Dzeko has come out and revealed which clubs were interested in signing the former Manchester City forward, with one of them being a Serie A rival.
Silvano Martina has opened up about the summer transfer activity surrounding the Bosnian international, suggesting that there were offers from England, China and the Serie A, more specifically from a familiar face in Roberto Mancini during his time as Inter Milan boss"?.
Speaking to Gazzamercato, via "?Football Italia, Martina said: "The Nerazzurri wanted him in case Mauro Icardi left, but they were not in the condition to make a big investment for Dzeko.
"From what I know they also received offers from England and one from China. The Chinese proposal was €30m to Roma and €15m per year for Dzeko.
"Roma made it clear they would only sell Edin if the player himself requested it. If Dzeko had asked to change club, then there would've been a very strong chance of him moving on.
"He chose to remain at Roma and prove to everyone what a great player he is."
The former Premier League goal scorer has received a large amount of criticism in recent seasons for his lack of goals in Italy for Roma, however he has now scored 10 goals in as many games at the start of the new campaign, and Martina believes the club are now seeing the best of Dzeko.

"The first season in a new league can be difficult for anyone," continued Martina.
"There was also a coincidence last term, as Roma tended to score two goals per game with a False Nine. This time around, things are going differently."
